Im stumped

Iv recently moved into a flat with Telstra broadband but cant connect to the wireless network.  It says to enter the network key, but everytime i enter the key that was given to me, it says the network password needs to be 40 bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration...Thing is the key given to me is 8 characters, and apparently it needs to be 10.

Im using a motorola wireless router that comes standard with telstra.

Any ideas how to connect to the network?  I have also been given a Hex key.  Would that be of use

Thanks

ascii key should be either 5 or 13 characters, hex key 10 or 26. Eight simply isn't valid.
