Hi folks,

I am experiencing problems with bluetooth manager.

Configuration:

  • XP pro - InstantPAN Dongle - BTW 1.3.2.7

  • Compaq H3970

Following your tutorial everything is fine till I try to visualize the services available on my PC by my Ipaq.

Instead that receive this page (from your tutorial) :

....this is what the display shows

Then when I try to press (ok) I receive the following error message

I would like to underline that the dongle works properly , (I've connected in with another laptop with no problems, internet sharing and newtworking work perfect) the PC and the 3970 are paired.

Thanks ...

Bye
Marco

The Bluetooth Manager on H3970 supports only connections to a hosts offering up to seven services.

Right-click the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, select Advanced Configuration, change to the Services tab and disable the services you'll not use (like PIM Snchronisation or headset).

Reset your H3970, and try again.

Hey Thank you man ..... sometimes is so easy to solve a problem !

If you ask to the right person ... Thanks a lot.

Another little thing. Now everything with the 3970 work properly but I cannot connect both the Laptop and the Ipaq. Advanced Config - Local Services - Network access : if is selected "Allow other devices to access the Internet/LAN via this computer" H3970 (ok) Laptop (no) , instead if is selected "Allow other devices to create a private network with this computer" H3970 (no) Laptop (ok) with internet sharing and everything. Stange isn't it ??

The Laptop is an old pentium with Windows 98 SE.

Bye
Marco

Are you trying to connec the laptop using Bluetooth or you mean using your normal LAN?

What's probably happening is that to connect to your LAN the laptop uses an IP address that is required byt the BT LAN Access (ICS really). When you enable this option there's a conflict in addresses. Check if your laptop is running 192.168.0.1 - or other device on your network, for instance a router or other computer.
