When you install the Bluetooth software it should put a "Bluetooth Places" in your desktop - or ask if you want when you first start using Bluetooth. If it's not there, right-click the Bluetooth icon in the System Tray and select "Start using Bluetooth". If you've already done that, you'll have to remove and install the software again.

Make sure you reboot between operations (remove, install).

I have the same problem. I don’t know if it has something to do with the what type of Bluetooth dongle you are using. I am using a 3Com PCMCIA 3CRWB6096 and I do not have My Bluetooth places. What BT dongle are you using?

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall both the hardware and the software as suggested by freitasm, but it does not help at all.

Good point... Forgot to mention that. But I'm pretty sure I've see a Bluetooth icon on the desktop on a machine running the 3COM dongle.

I'm trying to get a demo from 3COM so I can write some guides based on their product too. But it's taking longer than I thought - big corporations are hard to reach sometimes...

@ freitasm

I could send you my card since it so bad (not the card, the software) that I could actually be without it.

The only problem is that you are in NZ and I am in Bosnia Herzegovina so it would take ages to send it back and forth.

Thanks for the offer - it might take less than trying to get one out of the Australian/New Zealand 3COM operations.

But I'll pass it this time - very kind of you.

@ freitasm

You wouldn't happen to know if any other company or person has developed a better or newer software for this 3Com card or if it is compatible with some other companies existing software? The card seems OK, but as I said, the software is quite bad.

I've seem a software called BlueSoleil, but AFAIK they onl;y have a demo version with a limit of traffic. Not sure if it's a product for consumers or not.

Also I know it works with CSR based adapters (TDK, Bluetake, Belkin, DLINK), but not sure about 3COM.
