I know something similar has been asked before ( but I'm specifically after a handsfree kit that works with no intervention.

I want to jump in the car, turn on the vehicle and it just works.  Turn off the car and walk away and it stops / disconnects.

I don't want to have to turn on the Handsfree kit every time I climb in the car, I don't want to turn it on every 10mins or 1hr during an 8hr drive, and I don't want the unit to answer my phonecalls when I'm standing outside the car at the petrol station or in my garage.

It obviously needs to be hardwired, or run off the ciggy lighter.  Is it safe to assume that every unit that runs off the car via these means would behave like this, or should I be looking for very specific units?

Any suggestions???

The Parrot PMK5800 looks like it might work if I was prepared to unplug it from the ciggy lighter every time I left the car.  Maybe, but not ideal.

Otherwise the Parrot 3000 EVOLUTION looks to be right: "Just turn on the engine. Drive. Talk. It's that simple." (

Anyone used these?

Anyone else tried any BlueAnt or Uniden (or similar) items that work this way?

I use the Parrot CK3100. When I turn the car on it pairs automatically to my Iphone. It's a great bit of kit and the quality is amazing as it's hard wired and uses the car stereo speakers. It mutes songs automatically if I make a call or if a call comes in. Plus once I take the keys out of the car it disconnects automatically. Hope that helps. Parrot all the way in my opinion.

I have the Parrot MK6100 (similar to the MK3100 but also streams music through the car speakers) and it also fits your bill. Pretty much anything that turns on when you turn the key will be fine, as long as Bluetooth is active on your phone of course. After pairing the phone with the hands free unit, you'll need to make sure that in the Bluetooth settings on your phone the hands free device is set to be allowed to automatically connect without asking you first.

If the unit is one that recharges off the cigarette lighter (that is, designed to be portable and it runs on batteries) you'll have to manually turn it on and probably off (some do auto shut-off after a period of being left on but not being connected) or they'll stay connected until you move the phone out of range of the unit.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.
