Hi, I have an advent wireless keyboard and mouse which I connect through a widcomm bluetooth adapter. I also have Windows XP SP2 installed. I had a few problems when originally installing the hardware but eventually got through it.

The mouse and keyboard now work fine but only after I have unplugged the dongle and plugged it back into the usb port. It seems that my laptop isnt booting up the hardware in that usb when the computer is first booted up and it is only when I unplug it and plug it back in that it detects it.

Can anyone give any help regarding this?

Welcome to Geekzone...

Have you looked on the Power Management tab to see if the box is unchecked?

Open Device Manager, Devices and scroll down to Universal Serial Bus. Find all USB Root HUB listed there and uncheck the box that allows the computer to turn off devices, in the Power Management tab.
