Current Bluetooth version (1.1) is not optimised for stereo sound, but a new version has been worked to implement this. It's not clear at the moment if current hardware (dongles) will be upgradeable to this new version via firmware.

do they have adapters too?
i'm looking to use this not with my pc but with other portable audios..
if they have developed a new version they should have also developed an adapter with the new version of BT right? an adapter with 3.5mm stereo jack or something

Current architecture and bandwidth limitations in the 1.1 standards and related hardware are not equipped for the handling of stereo.

I believe Freitasm was pointing out that the 1.2 standard has determined the profiles and hardware requirements to make this happen, but no products (either adapter or headset is on the near horizon for purchase).

In fact, AFAIK only Nextlink has been sucessful with a true digital headset. Still, they're not stereo, range is very limited and the price is high...in the range of 400 to 500 euros.

Toshiba has a headphone set out. Please see the following URL:

(-sorry the page is only in Japanese)

They come as a part of the package with the Toshiba Dynabook G9, but are also available separately.

I'll be receiving soon a few Bluetooth products that will sure impress all of you, and more... Just wait for our reviews. Can't say much more, but I have a CD with some demos here.
