Hi Ryan, with 25dB attenuation on ADSL2+ (I presume your modems reporting ADSL2+ and you are in an ADSL2 area) then I would have expected higher sync rates more like 10-12Mb/s maybe more.

Do you have filters on all the phones/fax/Skybox etc that are connected to the line, how many filters in total and how may phone jacks. These can cause a reduction in speed. Do a simple isolation test and remove everything except the DSL modem from the line and check your stats then.

Cheers
Cyril

Hi, so if you check your address with www.telecomwholesale.co.nz/maps do you live in an area that is currently cabineted, if so you may be well advised to move off the Red network and onto a telecom wholesale connection (via vodafone).

Hi, it seems you are not on a cabinet, but no Henderson exchange directly, as your line is short enough to get 10Mb/s or more. 25dB indicates around 1.8km so I would be checking what else is on your line as speeds much higher than what you are getting should be possible, especially with a 9dB noise margin.

Also you say you are on Annex M, you should be using ADSL2+ Annex A, this will give you slightly lower uplink speed than you are currently getting but higher down.
