Problem is I don't seem to be able to connect to the internet via bluetooth, i can activesync fine via bluetooth and get on the internet if the 2210 is in the cradle.
2210 tries to connect to the internet via BT Null Modem (for about 2mins then tells me it can't, any idea?)

Host (XP Pro, Zonealarm) PC connected directly to internet via USB DSL, Client (XP Pro) connected to internet through Internet sharing.
Belkin USB BT (100m) on Client
2210 activsync'd with Client inc. Bluetooth sync.

I'm tearing my hair out with this, i have tried turning off ZA that didn't work, but surley that isn't the problem if i can connect through the cradle and ZA doesn't flag anything up
I have also tried installing the USB dongle on the Host - same problem tho not with activsync.
Anyone offer up some thoughts??

Check your ICS or Windows XP bridge configuration. The "Null modem" connection is indicating that your computer is not giving the required information for your Pocket PC (IP, DNS or gateway).

Also, check the Windows XP firewall is not on. And access via ActiveSync uses a different routing and Zone Alarm may not block that - but may block the Bluetooth one. I'd turn it off or remove to test.

thanks for a very quick responce, this problem has been on other PDA sites for a couple of days without reply, definately going to come back here is i have any more problems or solutions :)

I had read that post and was going to try that when i got home from work tonight, tho i just thought i'd check i hadn't left anything glaringly obvious out.

come to think of it......i might have left the XP firewall on do'h

man I see this problem everywhere, and I myself have tried everyguide on this site with no luck either. I still get stuck with the null modem part. I am able to do everything else using the AS connection, but I too would like to try connecting straight to the internet. It also suprises me (meaning it never croseed my mind when I bought my usb adapter) that bluetooth is so hard to setup. I think I may have opted to get a CF Wi-Fi card and router if I had known what I know now. I'll keep watching this thread for any more tips, great site by the way:)

Okay got the internet working both via activsync and direct, bridge was already on just had to match the IP's

I've another problem tho, when i access the internet directly most www will not load, when they do load most (or all) the links will not work, i get the age old "the page you are looking for cannot be found", with activsync its fine

websites tried

www.msn.co.uk - doesn't work (fine with activsync)
www.msn.com - homepage loads, links don't work (fine with activsync)
www.overclockers.co.uk - works fine apart from forums (fine with activsync)
www.geekzone.co.nz - doesn't work (fine with activsync)
www.totalpda.com - doesn't work (fine with activsync)

Anyone have any ideas???

I am still getting hung up at the BT Access Null Modem part. I was wondering if someone new of a place with more documentation on things like the Connections area of Mobile2003. Where it has selections for Select Networks, and what the differences between using My Isp or My Work Network are, that type of thing. Also how the adapters are used under Network Card, I have about 5 entries in there one of which is the Bluetooth driver. If I had a better understanding of what these sections actually do I perhaps could have a better chance of connecting straight to my PC's internet connection. Hehe also is there any good info on how to use Winroute in place of ICS?? Thanks for all the help!!
