this sounds like common problem and i also went thru following links

but cant get my problem solved. thats the reason why i am starting new thread.

following are my details
desktop pc is running on windows XP with SP1 and i have got ADLS broadband connection. i have enabled ICS for bluetooth connection. i dont have any firewall / protective program installed.

i have got XDA 2i running on Windows Mobile 2003 SE, when i try to connect to internet using my PPC i get "Network Log on" -> "BT network access" screen asking for username, password and domain prompts.

i also checked "programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using" is set to "Bluetooth Setting" and in that modem is set to "Bluetooth Null Modem"

can anyone let me know what am i doing wrong? let me know if you need further information.

This is normal. Just leave all blank, check the box "Remember password" and you should be connected then.

Thanks for your interest and reply. i was able to connect for first time but was not able to surf net via Pocket IE. i tried to ping 192.168.0.1 for which i got reply but when i tried to ping www.google.com / 216.239.37.99 [ ip of google ] the request timed out.

once i disconnected after that i have not been able to connect again. i get "answering modem has disconnected" error message. i cant reconnect again.

what do i need to check? can you pls help me

Make sure you have configured the DNS addresses on Ethernet adapter BlueTooth Connection. The DNS is the same one used in other connections (i.e. in your case it seems to be 192.168.1.1).

Also, on your Pocket PC open File Explorer, browse to \Windows and tap on welcome.exe to run the program. Follow the instructions and soft reset the device. Try again after this.

i really appreciate your efforts.

i have set DNS in my bluetooth connection and also run the welcome.exe file of \windows folder. but i still cant even ping [ using vxUtil ] ip of google from my XDA. as i mentioned before i can ping 192.168.0.1.

what setting i might be missing? is there any step by step guide to configure XDA2i via XP SP1? let me know if you need any further information.

The Bluetooth Guides are the same. It has to be something related to firewall, or power.

Things to check are also making sure the Bluetooth adapter is plugged into a USB port, not a USB HUB, and that you are no further than 5 - 10 meters away from the computer.

An alternative is connecting to ActiveSync over Bluetooth (again, check our guides), which will give you automatic Internet access via the PassThrough feature, enabled by default on ActiveSync.
