I've found a service with my bluetoth dongle that allows you to use your PC as a headset - question is 'can it work the other way around?'

I have my PC connected to the phoneline via my modem and have it set up to ring/answer calls etc using 'FaxTalk' answering machine software.
Is there any known way of routing the audio of an incoming call from my phoneline over bluetooth to my mobile phone so I can effectively use it as a cordless phone?
Is there an software that can do this?

Hardware: T610, MSI Bluetooth dongle - WIDCOMM drivers

Any help would be much appreciated!

The problem is the most phones will not implement the profiles needed for this to work...

Not the same problem but still an Audio Profile problem, I think!

I am trying to use a BT Headset (for mobile phones) with my Centrino Tablet PC.

I found your "How to configure your desktop/laptop to use the Bluetooth headset" article very usefull.

The laptop pairs with the BT Headset but there is no "Connect Headset" on the right-click menu available.

The BT Headset documentation mentions that a "Bluetooth Audio Gateway Profile" is required.

I have the same problem with a Jabra BT200 HS and an HP NX7000 notebook. Did you have any luck with this problem?

Sometimes you have the icon on My Bluetooth Places but the computer doesn't know the services offered by the headset yet.

Double-click the icon so it will connect to the headset briefly to retrieve the services. Once you see the lists of services available on your headset, just go back one step to the previous dialog. Try the right-click again and you should see the Connect to Headset option.

Hmm... That's bad. Are you using drivers version 1.3 and up?

The Bluetooth is not built-in in this HP notebook is it? Do you have a brand for this adapter? Does the company says explicitly that it supports the Audio profiles needed?

Some Bluetooth adapters do not support Audio in any way, due to hardware limitations. This happened with the original Belkin F8T001 for example. Now they have another model with the same code, it even looks different, to make sure people don't get mixed with the code.
