Hi,

Does anyone know of any good lan chat software,  ideally just something that sits in the system tray and popsup when a message is received.

Thanks

Have you tried Softros LAN messenger? Looks like  you need a tool like this.

I have used and managed a few.
OpenFire was good, stable and feature rich.

The one that had me most interested for a while though was ejabberd because it is written in erlang and is very scalable.

But i havent looked into these things for a while so the world of IM may have moved on.
