im planning to purchase a small bluetooth mobile phone and pda, but would like to find out if i can browse the internet and check emails with the phones wap, not gprs, connection?

i get unlimited free wap calls and very expensive gprs, and while i know it wouldnt be very fast if anyone has any experience id be very gratefull.

if it makes any difference im on o2 uk.

the two devices i was looking at were a se t610 and either a h1940 or a clie tablet type pda. the most important consideraions for the pda are size(not weight) and ability to use email, msn messanger and internet over blueooth. any thouhts/advce?

thanks

ben

You'll probably not have this access. The WAP connection allows only access to a WAP Gateway - it'll act as a proxy, fetching the WAP pages and sending to your device.

I'm currently using a Sony Ericsson P800 (have a look on this page for more things I'm using) and I think it's quite a good mobile phone and PDA combination. The size is perfect, unlike some Pocket PC Phone Edition, and it's easier to write than trying to use the tiny keypad (like the ones in other smartphones).
