I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to these things. I recently bought a Sony Ericsson z520a cell phone only to find out it has a problem with the software. The problem has been resolved and Cingular is sending me a new one with the better software. The only problem is all of the pictures I've taken of my 7 month old son will be lost unless I can get them off of my old phone. That's where my problem starts.

I bought a Belkin bluetooth adapter in order to transfer the files onto my computer with Windows XP. I finally went through the steps you guys have listed on this forum to get the correct driver installed. When I did, however, an icon popped up in the tray that says a network cable is unplugged on the bluetooth network. When I try to connect my phone nothing comes up in the way of devices. The bluetooth icon in the tray is white, so I assume it's working.

Please help...I appreciate any advice...Thanks.

I should add that when I try to add the phone by going through the "add a bluetooth device" button, it quickly says it can't find any devices...and when I try to turn on it comes up with a bluetooth service error saying discoverability settings and connection settings could not be saved because of an error. I've read the articles on ICS but I'm probably just not getting it since I have very little in the way of computer skills. I'm not sure which network connections I should be dealing with. I have a wireless network which is where I get my internet connection. The reason is is that the cable modem is in another room and it's the only way to get the internet to my computer...

Thanks again for any help.

...........later............

OK...I finally got the files off of my phone...But now I can't figure out how to configure it to get the files back onto my new phone...When I try it says it failed to perform discovery. I also got another message saying FTP connection failed...
