Hi All,

I need to get some patch cables for my patch panel and I'm a bit owverwhelmed with the different types of Cat5 cables available, e.g. Cat5E, Cat5E CCA, Cat5E Shielded pair, etc...

The Patch Panel runs Cat5 cable to 6 rooms in the house (approx 20 data points)

Can someone please give me a quick rundown on the differences and advice on which to use?

Thanks

Hi, for normal patch cords, just use normal cat5e as per the following link, nothing else is required.

Thanks Cyril. For once the cheapest option is the best - very refreshing!

Yup thats why its so popular! Get ones long enough to bundle up with velcro and keep tidy without bending tightly.

Time to find a new industry!
