I am trying to set up my windows home server with a 2700e and WRP400.

I have my WHS connected to the Draytek which is the modem for my home connection.
Then I have the Draytek providing internet to the WRP400.

I'm trying to disable the DHCP server on the WRP400 so that all the routing responsibilities are carried out by the Draytek. Having the WHS connected to the Draytek means I get much better bandwidth for doing backups etc, rather than using the WRP400 as a router.

I also find that when I try to disable DHCP on the WRP400 I can no longer access the Admin console.

At the moment I have the Draytek is set to: 192.168.5.1

the WRP400 is set to: 192.168.5.2.

The admin console on the WRP400 is inaccessible by either wifi or LAN, I can also not connect to the internet through the WRP400. The only thing working on the WRP400 is VOIP/VFX.

I'm trying to follow the principles from this article: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=80&login=1&app=search&vw=1&articleid=4579

I think I need to tweak the settings in the draytek DHCP Server Configuration, perhaps relay agent? I'm a little lost so would appreciate any help.

Have your tried putting the Draytek in PPPoA to PPPoE bridge mode, and use the WRP400 as the main router - connecting as PPPoE?
What issues do you have with WRP400 as main router?

I have several in this configuration, with no loss of bandwidth.

My experiences were that file transfer speeds doubled when the WHS was connected to the Draytek compared to the WRP400.

I also have a Draytek 2700 in storage which I may prefer to use as it will assign QoS to the WRP400.

However, I still want to try to keep my WHS connected to the Draytek and disable DHCP on the WRP400 if this is at all possible.
