Does anyone have any idea about Peanut and how it will go against the olde-style Bluetooth technology?   There seems to be little information around at present.  http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/24/qualcomms-peanut-challenges-zigbee-bluetooth-for-control-of-yo/

Qualcomm must think they have got a serious advantage in technology to move on from Bluetooth which has a very large entrenched base.

With bodily equipment more than science fiction now, with cochlea implants a reality, such technology has got serious prospects.  Body implanted transducers with wireless transmission to skin or clothing and induction coupled recharging could perform myriad functions for remote medical monitoring and even feedback.  How about a cardiologist gets a mayday call and can remotely shock a fibrillating heart back into synchronisation?   I am not a medical person so I'm making that up as a possibility.  Glucose monitoring should be doable.

Garden variety data transmission from cyberphones to Earcells [hearing aid type stereophonic sound] or to retina scans for 3D imaging would be doable.
