I'm considering wireless enabling my home network, and will potentially be doing the same for my father-in-law around Christmas time too, so want to make sure I can do what I'm currently thinking of.

From discussions with a contact who's got lots of experience with wireless access points (some of which is very high-end business gear, and way out of my price range), I've been advised that the current best access point available for residential use is the Apple Airport Extreme.  Not only do online reviews I've read seem to back this up, but the fact that it's both 2.4 and 5Ghz friendly (at the same time), makes it nice and future proof.  I'm also aware that the ideal best place to install an access point if possible is on the ceiling, or a high-up on a wall.

Has anyone here had any experience installing the Apple Airport Extreme on a ceiling/wall, and if so, is there a mounting bracket available for it anywhere?  Also, I'm aware that it's not power-over-ethernet capable, so can anyone tell me how long the power cord is for it, so we can work out if we'll need to install a power socket on the ceiling/wall, near the AP, or if the cable could be concealed in trunking?  Or, alternatively, is there a PoE kit available for it anywhere?

Any answers and advice/comments would be most appreciated.
