Righty, time to upgrade the router. Looking at Netgear WNDR3700 due to them *supposedly* likedness for the ps3 and media streaming which is what im looking at.

I also have a toshiba satellite pro L300 with inbuilt Realtek RTL8187B 802.11b/g wireless card.

My question is -
will i need a dongle thingy to make the wireless compatible or will the laptop be ok as it is? I dont need any flash speeds on the laptop its just for browsing so its cool....help.

Your laptop will connect fine. The WNDR3700 is a dual band router with a B/G/N radio at 2.4Ghz and a 5Ghz N radio that operate simultaneously.

I have a WNDR3700 myself, and they are quite good. Signal is not quite as good as some other routers I have used, but speeds are fantastic. I regularly get 20MB/s on wireless N.
without a problem.

So just some feed back on this... i got the router from playtech.co.nz - awesome team. paid for economy shipping and got it overnight.

Setup was easy, laptop hooked up right away. I have full signal from EVERYWHERE in the property.

Just conscience of wifi security now though!
