I just purchased the IBM t-30 laptop w/xp pro and it has bluetooth v1.2.2.15 installed. My problem is that I am unable to obtain a signal from the bluetooth device on my laptop in order to connect with my palm t3.

Is there a new patch or driver from MS that I have missed. I have explored several pages and forums, but with no luck. Pleeeeeeeeeeeese help. This seems simple enough, but I have had no luck.. thx.

Have you checked IBM's site or contacted technical support? I think that laptop model has been discontinued by IBM, but it's still supported (as well as internal BT card).

Can you give a little more detail on problem? By signal, I assume you mean that you can't discover laptop. Have you set it to be discoverable? Firewall?

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked w/IBM, but they do not support the BT component.

The status indicates 'Bluetooth LAN access driver' network cable unpluged. I disabled my firewall (zonelabs) temporarily, but still nothing.

I can't find an updated driver, but do have XP sp1 loaded.

Any further thoughts?

I've never used IBM's BT software and I haven't seen much discussion regarding it on other boards.

I'm pretty confident that the software should support the LAN profile, so the first question would be...have you gone through the bluetooth guides on this site in attempting setup?

Hopefully, IBM's UI is not that much different from Widcomm's.

I will look back through the guides to see if I missed anything. It seems strange that I am getting no 'output' from the BT.

Could there be a resource issue with the BT or might it be in conflict with the wireless ethernet card?
