I have a Draytek Vigor 120 configured as modem only in full bridged mode connected to an Apple Time Capsule router.  Is there a way to connect to the Draytek configuration web interface without unplugging the Draytek from the router and plugging it directly to my computer?

The Draytek is configured for an IP address of 192.168.2.1 and the LAN address of the Apple Time Capsule is 192.168.1.1.  My preference is to be able to access the Draytek from any IP on the 192.168.1.0/24 network.

Note: there is a similar post for a Linksys router running tomato (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=57953) which used some firewall scripts to resolve the issue, but I don't know how or whether the Time Capsule could be configured to do this.

I want to upgrade from an ADSL model router to take advantage of ADSL2+. I already have a Time Capsule, and am thinking of getting the Vigor 120. Was it an easy setup? I'm just concerned as I understand the 120 doesn't hold ISP usernames and passwords (I Use Telecom)

Thanks for any help
Alex

This is optional. The DV120 can either act as a standard modem (where it holds the user/pass and authenticates to the ISP) or as a PPPoE bridge (where the downstream router is responsible for authentication). It can even be (in fact defaults to) a standard modem/router where it is responsible for all the routing/NAT, but I wouldn't recommend that for heavy use as it doesn't have a very gutsy processor.

Thanks - I have one ordered - now all I need to do is remember my ISP password :)

Hmm, not sure on the abilities of the Time Capsule but this is how it is done on pfSense. The concept is likely similar.

I've just changed to the same setup, although with a Airport Extreme, and I'm very happy

I've even used a powerline in place of an ethernet cable to link the modem and router because they have to be at different ends of the house and it works fine

Setup was a breeze, 2 boxes to check i think to put in in bridge mode and then put the login and password in Airport Utility

I previously had a Linksys WAG310 which kept crashing and also prevented me getting a decent skype connection no matter what portforwarding i tried. all solved now, hopefully it will remain stable

Unsure about the setup being a breeze... Didn't want to high-jack your thread as I have a different issue as well, but feel free to have a read and add to it if you like: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=83344
