Hi there
I currently have a linksys WAG160N and forever having problems with wifi not working and the network cutting out and not being able to see other computers printer etc on the network

Think others may have had this problem from some reading I have done

So looking for a new router would like 8 port wireless router gb ethernet
im guesing this will cost alot to also have adsl2 inbuilt so thinking of running adsl2 modem with a router

I have a standard router that was supplied by vodafone a dlink basic adsl2+ modem with one ethernet port
so was thinking of using that with this

http://www.ascent.co.nz///productspecification.aspx?ItemID=393378

this only has 100m ethernet switch so not entirely what I was after but may be ok

Any other sugestions would be appreciated

Needless to say DO NOT 'upgrade' to a WAG320N (which has Gigabit ports), though I'm sure you had no intention to. The wireless is absolutely pathetic.
I would also say avoid D-Link. No model I have used / or configured for others has been very good.
I'm sorry I can't recommend any to buy, as I have cable and use Gargoyle router OS in conjunction with the cable modem, and also haven't yet bothered with Gigibit. I would personally buy a seperate 8/16 port Gigibit switch and use a single/4 100mbps port router, but then I have a structured cabling system with patch-panel.

Just get a TP-Link TD-W8960N modem/router an attach a TL-SG1008D gig switch simple setup will work well together $160-$180

shrub: Just get a TP-Link TD-W8960N modem/router

Bought one of these following a recommendation from Cyril7 and it is excellent. I also previously owned a WAG160N in the mistaken belief that Linksys/Cisco actually cared. It really is a heap of garbage and can have done their reputation no end of harm.

Just one comment about the W8960N, the four network ports are 10/100 only, not Gigabit.

By using the tp-link boxes and a modem is going to mean 3 boxes in total, there must be a better option to at least only have a maximum of 2 units
