I need to arrange a wireless link between two sites across a road. Distance between sites is 200m.

The link will need to carry:

- Two 100 base T networks (One PC to PC, other for public address system and alarms & indication PLC))
- CCTV video link for 5 cameras

The two sites are line of sight through a row of trees along one side of the road. I have been advised that systems are now available that operate through trees but I remain doubtful.

Can anyone suggest a suitable system?

For 200m even if its going through trees you probably aren't going to face too many problems. Try a couple of these, one at each end:

Could you elaborate on your networking needs? Is everything your running ethernet based and/or does it all run in the same subnet?

Running wireless through trees is always very risky, as the link has the potential to vary significantly particularly during wet weather.

You're better off using dual polarity gear (ie not a bullet) as you'll instantly get double the capacity and dual poliarity can handle interference slightly better.

Thanks for the responses.

The radio link will be an alternative for the following cabled connections:

- Fibre pair for PC peer to peer Ethernet
- Fibre pair for CCTV LAN network switch to DVR
- two core cable PA system Microphone and amplifier to speakers
- Four core cable for two off digital signals (alarm and indication)
