I have recently acquired one of these pieces of equipment.
So far all good! Set up fine ran fine everything connected fine.
Was having a nosey around and realised it has a modified firmware on it.
The modem was originally from Orcon. I presume it's a firmware they put on it as I seen in my searches.

I can't update the firmware nor can I access a number of features.

SO! Could anyone tell me/point me in the direction of how to re-flash the modem?

I don't mind taking a risk if it could brick it either =)

Thanks
Nathan

Is it a modified firmware or is it just from another country?
Orcon firmware only goes onto the ones they distribute.

Disclaimer: I was involved in the homehub deployment/configs/testing when I was Working at Orcon so I know fully how they work but better get in touch with Orcon regarding this (if it is an Orcon originated SX763)

I believe the Orcon "homehubs" are are only rented to people and not sold so thus belong to Orcon and managed by Orcon.

The only thing which is "blocked" by the Orcon Routers is the SIP Setup.

Orcon in the past have allowed people to access these features:

but I don't know about these days.

Ok I don't think they will unlock it as,

A) I found the modem (Was in a rubish bin out side a flat)
B) I'm with telecom

So with you knowing that would there be anywhere else to look/go?

Cheers again
Nathan

As Orcon Staff are most likely reading this on Geekzone I would suggest contacting them regarding the modem as they are the only ones who can help you.
