Hi all,

I want to set up a private network (no internet) between two computers, one a new laptop with XP, one a Win98 desktop.

Both have bluetooth dongles, and I can share files between them using File Transfer in My Bluetooth Places.

I've set the 98 PC to "Allow Other Devices to Create a Private Network with this Computer", but when I try and connect from the laptop I get "Error creating 'Network Access connection" errors.

Any ideas on what else I have to set?

Thanks,
Douglas

First I'd check any personal firewall software in use - disable the software in both computers and try again. But not only turn it off, you'll have to disable the "Start with Windows" option.

Then I'd look on Google about network issues between Windows 98 and Windows XP - I think there are some conflicts in terms of authentication, etc - not related to Bluetooth.
