I'm glad I found this forum, because I'm been trying to find an answer to this question for a while, and this place looks like my best bet...

I have a Socket Bluetooth CF card in my laptop; I bought it specifically because it has no external antenna, i.e. it doesn't stick out at all. Unfortunately, it works only rarely; the software (digianswer) was discontinued two years ago, without being finished, and Socket has no plans to replace it (though they're still selling the useless adapters.) I paid $110 for this adapter, and it goes without saying that I'll never touch a Socket product again, but that doesn't solve my problem.

Where can I get a bluetooth adapter that works in Windows XP, but is low-profile enough that I can leave it in the computer all the time without worrying about snapping off the antenna? Obviously USB adapters are out. A collapsible antenna would be okay. (Anyone know anything about that 3com adapter?) A non-collapsible external antenna would have to add, say, less than 1 cm to the length of the card.

I absolutely need DUN, with my Nokia 3650, and the serial port profile, for synching with my iPaq. Any other profiles would be a bonus.

Incidentally, if anyone knows what the prospects are for my Socket card, I'd like to hear about that too. When XP SP2 finally comes out, will it be supported automatically, or is it still useless without working drivers? Is there any chance that Socket might start supporting this product again in the future?

Thanks in advance.

I tried the Bluetake BT100S-Plus and it comes with Widcomm 1.3.2.7 software. TDK also makes a PC Card Bluetooth adapter.
