Hello all,

i recently purchased a Vigor 2710n and use it to stream 128 kbps audio as i own a web radio.
my stream works perfect (the router and the server are connected with a 100mbps LAN cable)
all the time until the moment i switch on my Toshiba laptop..

as soon as the laptop connects and gets an ip, my stream at the server freezes and my radio stops!
i got so much stressed that i refuse to use any wifi device in the house.

my adsl2+ line is great, i have absolutely no problem.
the router is locked at 900 KB/s UP and 18MB/s DOWN.
the attenuation and SNR are excellent too..

can anybody throw a hint of what might be causing that?
i use Kaspersky 2011 (if anybody suspects the AV)

thanks a lot in advance

Does the same thing happen with you plug the laptop in via LAN cable rather than connect via wireless?

That would help pinpoint whether it's the laptop causing the issue or the handling of wireless in the Draytek.

Can you also confirm whether this is only when your Toshiba laptop connects, or any WiFi device?

the problem shows when i connect ANY device via wireless (even my iphone).
the only LAN device is the (server) pc.
i talked to the Drytek support and they told me i should upgrade the F/W.
they say the 3.3.6.1 version solves that issue.
i will upgrade one of those days and see what happens....

i will get back for more

peace

Let me know if you still have any problems after updating firmware, we're not aware of any outstanding issues with this model.

The F/W upgrade went just fine.
The file to download is Vigor2710V3.3.6.1A_STD211011 for the 2710n model

I had to reconfigure the router though, as i did a complete upgrade
not a simple one (i used the .rst file not the .all - the .rst file erases the flash too).
Everything went ok.

No problems with my WiFi anymore (so far at least).
All my mobile devices connect immediately with no interference.
I only want to see what happens after a while (with my laptop or iphone connected for more than an hour or so).

If anybody has wifi problems with Vigor, i suggest he upgrades.
