Hi all - I have read all the threads talking about how to wire up a house for distributed phone/data/video/audio etc and am pretty happy with what I need and where. I have a big hallway cupboard in the centre of the house which the main TV backs onto (from the living room) so it seems an ideal place to locate all my server gear/routers/patch panel etc. I can run my satellite feeds here along with all my CAT6 and RG6 (from each room), to provide a nice central location to distribute everything.
The only issue I have is that it is a long way from the ETP - which will be on the garage wall. I will run 3xCAT6 and 2xRG6 from the ETP back to the cupboard, and will provide power at the ETP (internally of course). I am hoping this will cover my bases as it is not feasible to run a conduit.
So assuming we finally get FTTH would this setup work in your opinion? I am hoping I could locate the ONT inside the garage directly behind the ETP. I would have power there to run the ONT and could then connect it back to the server cupboard via the CAT6 cables - is this going to work or am I missing something?
Regards,
Ben
