Hi, i'm juz purchase Billionton Bluetooth Adapter 2.0 + EDR yesterday......The software bundled with the Billionton is Toshiba Bluetooth, however its didnt work after i install it, so i just switch to WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 5.1.0.1100... All went smoothly, its only i having one problem, i notice the file transfer speed is equal to my previous Billionton Bluetooth Adapter 1.1 ...... Is there a way to check the Bluetooth version ? As i read and gather information from most website, Bluetooth version 2.0 should provide faster speed of transfering file compared to version 1.2 and 1.1....... And i also try to transfer file using my friend billionton bluetooth 1.2 and its faster.......When i plugin my friend billionton bluetooth 1.2, my windows xp got pop up some kind of message like wat GHz detected...... But this message didnt pop up when i plugin billionton bluetooth version 1.1 and 2.0 ? Sorry for asking lots of question ? newbie.....

You should see a faster speed if both sending and receiving PCs are running Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. Also the software is part of the set, so you should be using the original software. If it wasn't working, it could possible be due to driver conflicts, although in my experience the Toshiba Bluetooth softwar is quite easy to install without conflicts.

The Pocket PC is not Bluetooth 2.0, so you will never get the max speed from this combination. I've used Widcomm, Toshiba and BlueSoleil. I like the Widcomm, but I am not sure if it supports Bluetooth 2.0 with Billionton at this stage.

Even if it supports, the Pocket PC as I said will not support the full speed/

Oh, yes... The Dopod 818 Pro seems to have Bluetooth 2.0 - although only some reviews say it, the official Dopod site mentions "Bluetooth" only, no version.

I never measured the speed of different stacks. I am currently using the Toshiba software with a Bluetake adapter on my desktop and a Widcomm-based PC card on my Tablet PC. There's no way to find the adapter's version, only through the manufacturer's specifications.

When I need speed transferring a file I use the USB cable - is much faster ;-)

I had no problem with the software (Toshiba stack) that came with the product installing.  I also had no problem with the Windows software simply installing.  But I have operational problems (the same) with both.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Environment:  Compaq V4440n laptop with XP Pro SP2.  Targus bluetooth mini-mouse.

I can get the software to pair with the mouse.  It works great.  Then, I turn off the mouse and (after a few seconds) the bluetooth connection disconnects.  I come back and turn on the mouse, and nothing.  The only way I can get the mouse to reconnect is by removing the device and starting all over, pairing it up.

I have the Targus USB bluetooth adapter that came with the mouse.  I believe it uses the Widcomm stack.  With that configuration, the mouse will reconnect by simply pressing on the mouse's scroll button after turning it back on.

The reason I want to use the Billionton card is that the Targus USB dongle protrudes and this laptop is one which gets taken from class to class.  I don't want something that protrudes, even though it works.

ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
