Hi guys

Further to my last post it seems I do need wireless-N and I’m after recommendation for a wireless modem/router.

I am currently very happy with my Dynalink RTA1025W but now need Wireless-N for streaming movies from laptops to Apple TV. We have two laptops and the Apple TV (plus wifi android phones) so max load (at the moment!) is likely to be streaming from laptop to ATV (might invest in the HD card at some point) plus concurrent downloading or more likely youtubing to the other laptop. No ethernet or wired network.

I do want a combined modem router as I just want the one unit and not too many cables. I’m not a great techy fiddler but once in a while am happy to google info about a specific need in order to carry out a particular tweak. So the ability to flash with DD-WRT or Tomato or similar would be nice. Not sure if I need dual band for this set up. Gigabit I assume is for wired ethernet only.

$100 would be nice but would stretch to more like $140. Stable and reliable important of course.

Any recommendations?

Not going to happen. Very very few ADSL devices can work with custom firmware.

I have my RTA1025W half bridged to my Asus RT-N16. Does the job perfectly, but is out of your price range.
I'd recommend a router seperately and just keep the RTA1025w for the modem, which it does an excellent job of.

TP-LINK TD-W8960N

I own an RTA1025W and while I'm not looking at replacing it, if I was I would get a TD-W8960N. Fits your budget too.

If you have any 5ghz devices, make sure you get a something that does 5ghz 802.11N :)
(Way less crowded than 2.4ghz atm)
