My old Linksys WAG200G modem/router is slowly giving up the ghost, so I'm looking to replace it with maybe the TP-Link TD-W8960N. The thing is, I think I might need to add a wireless access point at the other end of the house as the Linksys' signal was pretty pants down there.
As per the attached rough image below, I have a network cable running under the house from the Linksys that plugs directly into my PS3 in the lounge. If I were to get an AP down there, I'd want it to be fed off the network cable, plus still having the PS3 hard-connected.
In your humble opinion(s), would the move up to a 300Mbps n-wireless signal negate the need for extending the network by having an AP at the end of the network cable, or should I still get something there? If so, what would you recommend?
Note: I'm on a slim budget and would want to keep with TP-Link.
Cheers!
