Hi,

I got everything working on my laptop(IBM) and win2k professional.

Now I created a new user and suddenly mrouter wont recognise my device. Properties tab shows no devices connected. But when i click on "connect serial port" it connects and even mrouter connects. I dunno how? Since no devices are shown in the "change device" tab.

But PCSuite wont work since it again says "connect a device and then start PCSuite".
What is more wierd, mrouter is showing as connected at this time, but again under "change device" tab, it shows no device found ;(

Morever dial-up works fine, serial working fine but none of the programs and software dependant on mrouter seem to work because it shows mrouter not connected or device not found. All this while, the mrouter icon shows connected and even blinks on data transfer. Btw file transfer also works.

I re-installed PCSuite and mrouter but same problem persists.

PLS HELP, THANKS!

Your image is not showing - perhaps the wrong name on the server?

I think this is a mRouter problem with multiple users, not necessarily a Bluetooth problem. You can use dial-up and transfer files, which means that this part of the communications is working. When this new user was created was it assigned to the Administrator group?

hi freitasm, Thanks for reply!

I dont know why images are not showing up but here is the URL for them:

Pls do check it out. Meanwhile I installed XP on my laptop and everything was seemingly working fine but recently the BTTRAY.EXE seems to freeze up the moment i connect to the phone and then mrouter doesnt connect.

Sometimes i go into task manager and kill the process and re-start BTTRAY.EXE.

But now even that doesnt work anymore. Bluetooth icon freezes and mrouter wont start ;(

Yeskia,

Looks like we're experiencing the exact same problem. I had attributed my problems to a botched installation of new BT drivers for my adapter and carry over to re-installing the prior version software.

Let me give some detail and see if we can find some common ground that will solve this:

  1. High-level h/w & s/w list: OS is XP Pro, BT adapter is D-Link's DBT-120, PC Suite, Nokia 3650; P4-M Toshiba 5205 w/intel chipset.

  2. My problem started after completing a fresh install of Win XP to fix unrelated registry issues.

  3. Pulled down fresh install file on 1/20 for PC Suite from nokiausa.com; pulled down new release BTW 1.4.2.10a drivers from D-Link for adapter on 1/20. (note: did not install modem drivers or any other "Nokia" related s/w on PC).

  4. On install of 1.4210 Widcomm drivers, first received error message that "license.dat" file could not be found. A browser page opened to direct to file needed; however, only versions available were on original (3.10) D-Link CD, but got error that version was older than s/w currently installed. Other version of license.dat was in zip install files, but selection of this also failed.

  5. D-Link pulled newer drivers to fix install problem & I attempted to re-install 1.4.1.6a drivers, after complete uninstall of BTW drivers and PC Suite. At first, all looked fine, but over next day, sync'ing or use of PC Suite became increasingly unstable. (Note: as you found:- DUN, directly sending files in native BT appears to remain very stable)

  6. See if any of this sounds similar, including upgrading chipset drivers (especially Intel because of it unique controller structure), hardware addition or deletion, BIOS, etc. My thinking is cause of problem with error "that device could not be found" is a hardware/IRQ issue?? It's a start.

Misery loves company!!
