OK I've installed my DBT-122 bluetooth adapter and it shows up fine in device manager, but I have no Bluetooth control panel.

I'd love to use the native stack and not install WIDCOMM, but is this an option or do I have to go WIDCOMM?

If it's using the native drivers, then you should see a Bluetooth icon in the Control Panel. From there you can enable an icon in the system tray.
