Just installed it but it does connect to my ADSL connection.

It tries to dial but never succeeds in connecting - I am in the UK trying to connect to BTOpenworld.

I tried a number of different settings - PPPoA and dynamic IP address but no luck, besides which i doubt it matters until you actually connect

You mean PPPoE, is that right?

You'll probably have to ask BTOpenWorld what configuration to use. I assume you're connecting this directly to the line, not to an ADSL modem? If this is the case, does BTOpenWorld use MAC address filtering?

Check what ADSL settings you need. PPoA sounds right. I also needed to modigy my VCI level. My modem was set up as 0/38 but needed to be 0/35.

You might like to try here:

http://www.adslguide.org.uk/qanda.asp?faq=DSLHardware

Typical settings for ADSL in the UK are as follows:

VPI = 0, VCI = 38

ADSL Modulation Auto, then try G.DMT, then try ANSI T1.413
Encapsulation Mode PPP over ATM (PPPoA - RFC2364) VC-MUX
Authentication CHAP
