I don' t have one at the moment to try, but from memory, don't think it can be disabled completely.
However, I think it only worked for one SSID, so you may be able to set up multiple SSIDs, and then set up a MAC address filter for the SSID which WPS is linked to to block all MAC addresses, so nothing can connect to it.
You then use one of the other SSIDs for your actual network.
As I said, going from memory only, but might be worth looking at...
