Currently using a standard EchoLife HG556a wireless modem supplied by Vodafone. My WiFi security is usually set to WPA2-PSK, and I am able to detect and connect to that fine with my Galaxy S II by just entering the password.
The problem starts when I turn off security, where I can no longer detect and therefore connect to the network using my Galaxy S II. (The SSID still shows up as a previous connection with the WPA2-PSK settings, however it is greyed out and says not in range. If I select "forget network" and refresh, it simply does not show up at all).
WiFi is set to enabled
Channel is auto
SSID is voda
SSID is not masked
Security is none
I have a whitelist of MAC address, but not sure if relevant.
Now if I select WPA2-PSK, enter a password and save the settings, the next time I refresh the WiFi settings on my Galaxy S II it shows up, I put the password in and I am connected.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
