The problem is; I got a D-Link DWL-7000AP with triband and dual mode that my iPAQs wont connect to. I got h5450 and h 4150 with Windows Mobile 2003. I have tried with and without WEP and nothing works. This drives me crazy! My laptops and desktops with wifi card have no problems - except the Nokia D211 card laptop. Wont work either.
Someone been into same trouble?

Hi!
I have the same trouble. I got the iPAQ h4150 and DWL-7000AP and havent got the WLAN function to work. I have also tried to turn SSID broadcast on/off, WEP etc.

Have you got this to work?

No, I have asked HP support for help - but they do not come up with any good answer either. I will of course post any solution I find here - when I find it! :-)

OK. I'm gonna try to talk to hp as well.

Some extra information though:
One friend of mine has a 4150 as well. The same problem with that one.
Another friend has a h5450 (i think thats the model) and that one finds the network without problem.

best regards Mattias

That is strange - that your friend with same model as me can actually use the network with DWL-7000AP...very strange. Mine sees the network but wont connect - with or without WEP enabled. I have tried everything.. hehe

I tried that too, no luck either.

I got this from a HP-discussion forum, though.

I dont know about point 2, though. Is that possible with the DWL-7000AP?

That is NOT a complete instruction - and not veryfied either. What is the point with a dual AP if it is not possible to use both the G and A mode? Yes, it is possible to run it in B mode only - but as I said - what is the point? I have devices with A mode WiFi and want to continue the use of those.
I hate it when it turns out like this - HP should be able to solve the problem. :-)

I agree with you totally!! The little man against HP :(
How do I set up the DWL-7000AP to only use 802.11B??? I have to try this while waiting for HP?

Use the Management Utillity to access the setup or open your web based setup/management via the APs IP-address. I guess you see it is possible to turn off the A mode real quick. :-)IF you manage to get this to work..please post a note here.. ok?

Hi!
I am desperately trying to turn off 802.11a on my unit. I might very well be a dork but I cant find the control to do that. Have you done this? I have tried both with the manager program and with the interneet explorer.

Reset it and use the D-Link Air Xpert Dual Band manager - downlod it from the website
Tic all off from the management...so it is greyed out... on the A side.

Problem is solved!

What I did was to do a total reset of my iPAQ 5450 and installed the WLAN update from HP Driver and support site: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/download/18516.html

I do not know WHY I did not try this before - but I was pi**** off and had to try it all from the beginning. I guess you all beleive me when I say I was surprised when I had the network up and running in seconds after tapping in the wep code!

Well, now I am surfing on any D-Link network with DWL-7000AP and print out wireless with HP Mobile Printing to my wireless HP DeskJet 5850 printer! :-))

(from a happy Norwegian!)
