Hi all,

After a few years of faithful service from the above router it seems to be giving some trouble.  Wireless devices are struggling to connect to it.
Up until recently it's run just fine.
The only long running problem is that I've never been able to get the WPA variants to work, only WEP.  Yes, I know this is less secure but I combine that with a MAC filter for only allowed MAC addresses so that limits potential for cracking.

So, any thoughts or suggestions, or do I give up and look for a new router?

THanks in advance.

Quick update, played with the transmit power and reduced it from the 100mW I had previously (years ago) set it to, down to 50 (default is 28) and it seems to be a bit more stable.  Maybe I was overwhelming the receivers at close range.

You've probably cooked it running it at that power.

Unless there is something specific with dd-wrt that's essential (such as VPN support) you get pretty good performance with most off the shelf devices these days.
