I currently have a 802.11 n-draft WLAN. I want to get a network ready ethernet laser printer. My question is, if I use a WAP and connect the printer to the WLAN via ethernet cable, will it work on the network?

Do you mean connecting via ethernet cable to the same Access Point? Yes, it will work, since it will be in the same LAN segment.

Well, not the router connected to the cable modem, but an additional router used as a WAP.
