I have a toshiba notebook and have been unable to activate the bluetooth even though it is bluetooth enabled

Welcome to Geekzone. Note that not all Toshiba laptops have Bluetooth. They come as "Bluetooth Ready", meaning they have the software pre-installed, and they have a slot in the motherboard to plug their own Bluetooth adapter - but the hardware is not actually there, being an optional most of the times.

I have a Toshiba M205 and it's the same - "Bluetooth Ready", but no Bluetooth...

Hi,

your are right.
Many notebooks from TOSHIBA are only "Bluetooth ready"

They have a website, where they explain how to determine whether a BT module is in the PC or not.
