Is your connection with Orcon supposed to be a Genius based connection?

No NOT an Orcon Genius account for the time being, just a simple internet connection.

Shouldn't be anything else.

Could you post a screenshot of the Online Status page?

Nate1:  for the time being,

You signed up as Genius but not using it or you signed up as a normal connection ?

Post the status screen and any logs - you just might not be getting PPP (name/password wrong ?).

Have compared everything to the currently operating ASUS router and seems to be the same

QOS=UBS, PPPoA  VCMUX

I found this technical Information, which seems to apply, have tried the various modulations, though assume multimode would sort this out?

The generic ADSL settings for New Zealand are as follows:

VPI should be 0
VCI should be 100

The Protocol needs to be PPPoA (PPP over ATM RFC 2364) with VC multiplexed encapsulation (VC-MUX)
Modulation or Operating mode can be: G.992.1 G.DMT or ANSI T1.413 iss 2, but not G.Lite or G.992.2

Your IP address should be dynamically determined unless your using a static IP which you would know what to do with anyway.

Orcon
Incoming Mail: pop3.orcon.net.nz or mail.orcon.net.nz port 110
Outgoing Mail: smtp.orcon.net.nz or mail.orcon.net.nz port 25
- No SSL/No TLS used.

Primary Name Server/DNS : 60.234.1.1
Secondary Name Server/DNS : 60.234.2.2

I can see the problem!

You're running on the firmware optimised for the old Broadcom chips in the exchanges. It doesn't work on cabinetised connections, Orcon+ etc.

Grab the Recommended firmware for the Vigor2710 (not e or ne) from http://www.draytek.net.nz/draytek/downloads/ and apply that. Let us know how it goes.

Sorry left reply for ages, only got round to sorting this out on Anzac day, turns out I shouldn't have had my ASUS router running at the same time, didn't need to modify any configuration.

All running fine now,
