This is issue is so frustrating and I have no idea how to fix it.

I got my Kobo from Whitcoulls, set it all up and bought some books, no problem using the Whitcoulls branded Kobo app.

Whitcoulls doesn't offer free books, I wanted Dracula by Bram Stroker so I got it from Kobo and tried transferring it, no luck so I downloaded the Kobo desktop app and signed in. This then overwrote my Kobo with Dracula but removed my Whitcoulls books so I re-downloaded the Whitcoulls version of the app to get my books back.

I then decided to try Adobe Digital Additions, I downloaded this and registered but it won't authorise my Kobo so I can't copy anything to it. I read to re install ADE and factory reset my Kobo. However when my Kobo re-loaded I signed in but it signed in as Kobo not Whitcoulls (log in username is the same email) and loaded Dracula again and removed my other books. Also ADE still isn't picking up my Kobo to authorise it when I plug it in.

I don't understand why Whitoculls and Kobo have two log ins for the app thus overwrite each other. I also have no idea who to get ADE working so I can at least have all my books together.

Also why does it work as a Whitcoulls Kobo and my Whitcoulls books but if I sign out and back in it switched to the Kobo site books????? If I sue the Kobo app it has the Kobo store books but then if I browse the books to buy its Whitcoulls yet my Whitcoulls book were removed.

I had that with mine so when I set up now, I just use my adobe digital editions sign in and authorize the kobo. On the computer I have adobe digital editions. When I buy books from Whitcoulls or Kobo I download straight to computer and open with tha adobe digital editions program. This is because some downloads are just a link to be opened by ade. Then I connect the Kobo to computer. In Documents folder is a folder called My Digital Editions. I copy those books straight to the Kobo. DRM matches so no problems and can get books anywhere. This is using Windows 7. Sounds complicated writing it here but is quick and easy in reality.

HTPC Intel Pentium G3258 cpu, Gigabyte H97n-wifi motherboard, , 8GB DDR3 ram, onboard graphics. Hauppuage HVR 5500 tuner, Silverstone LC16M case, Windows 10 pro 64 bit using Nextpvr and Kodi

That's so complicated. Why not just buy an Amazon Kindle and be done with it? Seriously, one account, buy online, get on device. None of this exercise in futility...

Hi, I have the Koboglo and take the same approach as mentioned for the Kindle i.e., just use kobo.com. I also have an Amazon account so use Kindle on my iPad. I don't find Amazon any better than Kobo for books so haven't bothered switching to the Kindle ecosystem. Definitely contact Whitcouls and ask them to assistance. Cheers

yeah but not quite as complicated as it sounds. But I fully agree with you about Amazon. The Kindle is so much more user friendly overall across all devices. Mind you I am not so keen on the latest Kindle Android app update on my Asus Transformer. Makes it look more like the Kobo app. I liked it better how it was.
The only books I get for Kobo are ones I cant get on Kindle
But overall I say Kindle is much more user friendly. As the saying goes "it just works"

I'd recommend using Calibre to manage your Kobo rather than the adobe or whitcoulls software.
I use it to manage my Kindle - fantastic piece of software.

I basically uninstalled everything and reset my Kobo for the 10th time and now it works, shame it took so much messing about.
