Well I figure it can't do a worse job than my kids currently do. And that's a small price to pay to stop their whinging and moaning when they're asked to do it too :-)

Thanks everyone.. I've ended up going with a Roomba 770 for 500USD and found some suckers friends in the US at the moment who think they can fit it in their luggage on the way back to NZ. 

In actual fact there was a wife veto on the friends behalf for trying to bring back two :)
