Is the colour eink technology there yet? If it is I imagine it will still be quite low res. I think oled is a better technology, as eink will need additioanl lighting. The problem with oled is the power it needs.

Well I made a deal with myself if I could get one of the 10,000 early bird then I would back it.

Hit refresh a few times this morning after their outage and was able to get a spot in the early bird :)

I wonder how long it will be before the Pebble Steel Time is offered? The plastic Time will probably be a success purely from the loyal fan base already engendered by the first.

Well this would make my 3rd smart watch, the sony, LG R and the pebble.
I have a new band coming for the LG R but might save it for the pebble

I know, I think i have a problem, still like the sony a lot better than the LG, so will see how the pebble is, I think the LG might end up on trademe but the price of them has really bottomed out due to everyone selling them.
Otherwise I will just give it to a mate.

nakedmolerat: Then why choose kickstarter?

It doesn't make sense to me.

It's all marketing. More people will find out about it, if they do it through kickstarter.

jarledb: Pebble owner here. Not tempted. Have not been happy with it lately, the screen "corrupts" regularly, and it also looses the pairing with the iPhone.

Looking forward to the Apple Watch, which will be available long before this Pebble v. 2.

Same screen corruption happened to me, I emailed them and they send me a new one for free!

I upgraded my backing to the Steel this morning. Extra 3 days battery life from the Steel version, taking it to ten days, maybe more with the possibility of a battery-laden strap...

i don't really want to wait until July so I'm sticking with the original one.  Probably be on an Apple Watch by July anyway :)

After having a Moto 360, which I did like on many levels, I am so done with a watch that needs daily charging. I think I'll be happy with a Pebble Time.
