...those are device access permissions. The Privacy permissions are read phone status and identity, and record audio. Note the 'record audio' is required to receive audio from a phone's microphone so it can pick up on a smoke alarm siren.

If I can take advantage of your offer to answer queries, do you have any plans for an in-house siren to go with your security camera system? Or else any external sirens that play nicely with CleverLoop?
Hi, we are planning on releasing a siren at some point, but there is no timeframe for that at present. It'd be great to hear what sort of siren you'd want, as this is one of our talking points. Would you want outdoor or could it work indoors? Outdoor ones obviously need to be weatherproof, but also need to have power run to them and either work off WiFi or need to be cable connected to the system, which makes them a little more tricky for installation.
I kind of like the idea of both. I think Morepork and Scout Alarms are (mostly) on the right track with a siren integrated into the control unit, but I would like to be able to add an external box too. Our old street had a couple of spates of burglaries, but never our place. The police told us it was the visible siren box on the outside of the house. You don't need much to act as a deterrent.
I can see how part of the target market would want a wifi only option - certainly for someone renting, just having to find a power point makes life easier. But given where an external siren would go (under the eaves) and the need to run power to it anyway, I would have thought you could easily make the case than an external siren would be a wired only option. Personally, the super-best option for me would be a POE version - I'd far rather run a single data and power option that I can do without an electrician.
