Yeah Nah but thanks, maybe it's the Fritz! firewall but I've no idea how to check. Plug n Play is great until someone doesn't want to play and takes their ball home :-(

Traffic on the LAN, i.e., between LAN devices, doesn't go through the firewall.

The Davis might have a static IP.

Set PC IP (wired interface) manually to 192.168.0.100 (example), scan the network. After you find the IP of the Davis , access it's web interface and change the IP from static to DHCP. Set PC IP back to automatic, so it gets a Fr!tz type IP (178), access the Fr!tz to find the IP of the Davis....

Thanks joemate, but that's all above my level of skill. According to the setup instructions the automatic setting is DHCP so it's supposed to find it as soon as you plug it in and start the software on the PC
Thanks for your reply though

Hi

Great to hear you got your problem sorted. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of where you got your USB logger from. I also need to do mine as it's not storing info. PM me if you want to not post it publicly.

Cheers and thanks

Hi gabba, I got it from https://www.davisnet.co.nz/ at a discounted price. Sales ph and email at the bottom of their web page. Ask for Robin.

Excellent service, I got the logger couriered to me and it arrived 2 days after ordering. Not sure how quick the silly season post will be or if they close for some holidays.

Now I just connect laptop to logger once a week, it is between 10% and 15% of storage space at 30 minute sampling rate, so I could do it monthly and still not lose any data
