I've also been using Kindle (Paper White) and Calibre - with a plugin.  Being able to download library ebooks and load onto our Kindles has been great in lockdown - and free.  This a pretty powerful combo.  You can get almost any book for free through libraries (although often with a wait), while also having the Amazon store on hand for paid instant downloads.  It's the best of both worlds.

I'm not a big reader myself but my wife is. She's on her second Kobo now, the first was only replaced after a late night accident left the charge port damaged. The major selling point is the on device integration with Overdrive. She can browse, borrow or place a hold on library books straight from the device itself. I reckon 80% of the books she reads are sourced from the library, maybe 15% sourced from the Kobo store and the remaining loaded via Calibre when sourced outside of the Kobo/Overdrive ecosystems.

You don't happen to have the name of that plug-in, or a link handy do you? It sounds very useful.
