You might have to work on mitigation strategies.

 

And there's not much good on telly these days anyway.

 

 

Ah well, I tried (also tried twisting the power cables and wrapping foil around those too, which might have given a slight improvement from what I can see using the signal numbers on the TV).

 

The only live TV that we watch is The Chase and the 6PM news, everything else is streamed. I guess for the times that we're using the fan we'll just have to stream those two programmes.

You may improve things by using better quality (i.e. better shielded) coax cable in your aerial cables.



I tried swapping the coax cable from the wall to the TV with two other coax cables I had, unfortunately there was no improvement. It's possible the cable between the wall and the aerial isn't very good, but I'm not going to investigate that as it would obviously be a big job. I'm also not too sure about the aerial itself, we're in a rental and my other half doesn't like me climbing on the roof.



Is your fly lead from the wall to the Tv RG6 or is it moulded?
When the fan is on if you have a look at the quality settings and lift the cable up and down , move it around .
If the quality fluctuates it’s no good.

Moulded cable. I tried moving the cable around while the fan was off and the signal strength indicator didn't change. With the fan on the signal numbers were changing but they do that whether I'm moving the cable or not.

I'm not sure how old the house is as we're renting and only moved in just over a year ago. At a guess I'd say maybe 1970's. There is an earth rod outside but I've no idea how to test that.

If the signal quality fluctuates then the antenna/cable run needs attention, i.e., you need an installer with the relevant spectrum meter. Quality should be near 100% in most cases.
