ShockProof:

Hey, an associated question with this Ubiquiti system, outdoor cameras.

If I invest into Ubiquiti system then I should be thinking more than just a doorbell. Looking then at outdoor security cameras, the ones I can find are almost universally PoE powered.  This is a problem as betting ethernet cables to exterior locations would be a serious mess with cutting holes in celings and a big repair job and so not going to work for me.  Is there any way around this in the Ubiquiti system, thinking of battery powered cameras or solar/battery?

As JemS just posted, the G4 Instant is Wifi, and the G6 Instant has been released - https://ui.com/us/en/camera-security/compact

But, I would recommend going with PoE if possible, as you will still need to run power for the G4 / G6 cameras - Ubiquiti don't do battery cameras.  Is there any way you can get the cable outside, then run along eves / edges / etc. or even enclose in conduits?

I had a closer look in my garage and maybe here I could drill through the exterior wall. I don't care about surface mounted cables so much in the gargage, or they could be in trunking.

Are there any third party cameras that can connect to this system?
