Yea its solid vs stranded cable - I know it looks crazy but the way it is done is correct.

 

 

I realise that using solid in-wall cable as if it was patch cable is a bad idea, but if it's a fixed installation which is only ever going to be plugged in once rather than plugged and unplugged at random, is there anything wrong with crimping solid-core straight into an RJ45?
