Good morning guys. I am on the lookout as well for these Mi robot vacuum cleaner. Would prefer v2 if availabe. I have just sent an enquiry on Mi via their contact us on the website. Not sure if I'll get any answer when it will be available in the store. If I don't hear back or if they're (including PBTech) not stocking it soon, I will probably get it from PI or Dick Smith.

Keen to know, if you buy outside NZ, you wouldn't need some sort of adaptor for plug right?

Cheers!

Rudi

The cable/plug type is simply one of these, which are readily available even if it was the wrong cable.  Obviously just make sure the right voltage :-)

Thanks for the links to those videos comparing vs 1 and 2; that's convinced me it's worth going for v2, simply for the way they are so clearly different in how well they manage that contrast between hard floors and a shaggy rug, the exact issue in my son's room. I also know how often my wife's hair gets curled around our Dyson cordless, so if the v2 handles long hair better...

Prior to Feb 11, PI had the v2 for $599, so as usual I've missed the boat on the cheaper price! I'm not willing to take the risk of no CGA cover by getting it from AliExpress etc, so may wait a few weeks to see if it comes down with PI or if any other NZ shop starts selling it.

Why not ring and ask and say "A mate of mine bought one before Xmas for under $600, I'm keen too, can you match the price he paid?"

Worth an ask :-)

Good to know. Thanks guys!

Dicksmith (NZ) isn't too bad. I bought a few times from them. I think we're still covered under CGA. And I think there's an option for extended care if you wish.

I might get it from there. $639 at the mo..

EDIT:

Lol, shipping didn't include in Dicksmith (I had free shipping before). $40 hehe.. PI is the way to go..

Think there's CGA coverage from DSE?! Perhaps worth confirming prior as, for me, an extra $10 is well worth the assurance of this.

Good idea asking PI if they'll do it at that price; no harm in trying!

Hi Rudi,

Unfortunately, Mi-store NZ is quite new still I am unable to answer you as of now whether we will have these or when we will have these products in stock.

As this is not something that Xiao Mi head office says yes or no to what we sell in the NZ Market. However, I will forward this inquiry further for you to my upper managements.

Thank you!

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Tiffany Lin

I am keen to get one of these (V1) if anyone has any info on deals.  PB tech show their "normal" price of $498 at the moment although I will go in and ask if they can match or get closer to the recent sale price.  Dick Smith have it for $389 + shipping and claim it will ship in a couple of days but the horror stories in this thread have put me off.

I have had no problem with them at all. You just need to fine with waiting a potential while for them to ship.

Anyone else using that magnetic boundary tape to constrain the vacuum? I purchased some when I first got my cleaner and it worked fine. Now however the cleaner ignores the tape completely.

I dont know if the tape has lost its magnetism? or whether the sensor on the cleaner has packed it in. Any experiences?

I picked one of these up from TM - new in box.  Any tips on getting the bloody thing connected to the Mi Home app?  I can detect it, then connect to it's wifi network and tell it what the password to my wifi is then it just times out.  Tried an iphone and samsung note 9.  Tried using one of the phones as a wifi hotspot to set it all up.  I would appreciate some suggestions.

In the Mi Home app settings, have you selected Mainland China?
